On 4 October during SPIGF Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Management Committee, Gazprom, and Dmitry Pumpyanskiy, Chairman of the Board of Directors, TMK, have signed the Technological Roadmap for development and production of pipes with integrated registration, procession and commutation components.

TMK is going to design for Gazprom innovative large-dimensioned pipes with sensors for real-time pressure, temperature, stress and deformation control. The sensors will be inbuilt under the protective coating.

The pipelines will be equipped with high-tech data labels for their identification within the pipeline during the entire life cycle. It will be possible to connect the sensors to the united system of monitoring over the pipeline sections.

This new type of pipes will be applied in zones with high seismic activity, active tectonic zones, zones with unstable soils, and wherever gas pipelines will intercross with transport lines.

It is expected that the innovative products will make operation of gas pipelines more reliable and safe, will make assessment of their technical conditions more reliable, and will reduce the diagnostics, maintenance and repair costs.
