The subject of staffing for the oil and gas facilities at Far East and the Baikal Region were considered by participants of the panel discussion, arranged during the conference HR AND SociaL Policies of companies in development of the RUSSIAN oil and gas complex.

The speaker of the session Evgeny Baklanov, Head of the HR Department, told the participants that Gazprom transgaz Tomsk was working in Far East since 2006. The company uses gas transporting opportunities of the region and operated facilities owned by Gazprom, Sakhalin Energy, Daltransgas JSC and other companies.

Today, Gazprom transgaz Tomsk comprises 25 departments in 14 regions of the Russian Federation, and 8,5 thousand employees. The staffing level reaches 99%. 5,2 thousand people permanently work in Siberia, 2,1 thousand workers are employed by the Far Eastern enterprises, and 1,2 thousand employees are hired for the Power of Siberia project (a gas major trunk line under construction for gas supply from Yakutia to the Primorsky District and China).

By 2025, the staff numbers at this project are expected to reach 3,3 thousand people. «In the nearest 5 years, we expect to hire 2 thousand people for the Power of Siberia, which is about 400 people every year. We’re quite confident that these plans will be fulfilled,» said Evgeny Baklanov. According to him, the staffing pool of the Power of Siberia trunk line had been forming in several stages from 2014 to 2019. The work included the talent pool staffing, staff training, and preparation for works. In October 2019, the Power of Siberia trunk line started to be filled with natural gas. Gas supply to the border with China is scheduled for December 1, 2019.
