On behalf of Gazprom and me personally, I am happy to welcome participants and guests of the 12^th St. Petersburg International Gas Forum!

What we are currently watching in the energy market can be called a silent earthquake, which poses a challenge for many industries, and the gas sector is not an exception. That is why this year the convention program of the Forum covers the hottest issues and promotes finding of the best solutions to the benefit of today’s and future generations. The key priority is stable supply of natural gas, pure and available energy, to all consumers in Russia and partner countries in the long run.

To a considerable extent, this task can be solved as long as the Russian fuel and energy complex becomes technologically independent. Our country is working continuously to build a competitive hi-tech environment. We are expanding advanced Russian-made equipment manufacturing capacities, and our commitment to pacing technologies is sky rocketing. At the Import Substitution in the Gas Industry Corporate Exposition, new initiatives will be showcased. Many of them have already been integrated at the production sites to the best advantage of the industry.

I have no doubt that once again the St. Petersburg International Gas Forum will encourage relevant communication between representatives of companies, state agencies, industrial facilities, and the expert community.

I welcome you at one of the most essential annual events of the oil and gas sector, the 12^th St. Petersburg International Gas Forum!

Today, when the economic environment is changing rapidly, the state’s readiness to outer challenges and threats strongly depends on availability of its own high-tech solutions, scientific discoveries, and advanced projects.

The Russian oil and gas industry has managed to tune itself to the new reality and keep its original production capacity. Moreover, the industry has demonstrated that it is ready to satisfy the extra demand raised by the corporate customers.

The Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade is toiling continuously to ensure import substitution in the oil and gas machine engineering sector. They are paving the way for accelerated development of equipment manufacturing and production of commercially viable Russian-made goods.

Having been held for many years in a row, the St. Petersburg International Gas Forum has become one of the primary venues where the most progressive initiatives offered by domestic producers can be taken a look at and where the most top-priority tasks of the oil and gas sector can be discussed comprehensively. It is this format of communication at the Forum that kick-starts effective collaborations and aligns cooperation chains.

I am absolutely positive that this year will be no exception and the convention and exhibition programs of the Forum will be used to further promote development of our country’s oil and gas sector.

The gas sector is one of the development drivers for the Russian economy. Russian companies are currently implementing large-scale projects, vigorously developing new minefields, designing and introducing unique advanced technologies.

In accordance with the tradition, the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation is going to take active part in the St. Petersburg International Gas Forum, which is one of the best industrial venues for a dialogue between the business community and the state. Efficient communication of state authorities and officials of the big- and mid-sized business companies promotes decision making and keeping of the market economy steady. Such meetings establish the conditions required for sharing of the best national experience, annually Russian manufacturers join the event to showcase the potential of the gas industry.

Today when we have to deal with all the restrictions and the external pressure, this is really essential as it proves that the Russian gas sector knows how to deal with challenges successfully.

Strengthening of our technological independence and import substitution are among the key objectives of the industry development, and the Forum has an essential part in their achievement.

The Russian gas sector is a strong basis of the national economy, a foundation for sustainable development of the Russian social sphere, its cities and regions. Today, it is of paramount importance that we have a chance to comprehensively discuss the current situation and the prospects that the oil and gas industry has got, together with the leaders of the sector, the top experts, the representatives of the academic, state, and business communities. Our priority task is making our country economically safe.

The St. Petersburg International Gas Forum is one of the largest demonstration and communication platforms. The mission of the Forum is to promote the tremendous scientific engineering potential available in the fuel and energy complex. Please remember that we have got not only big companies on the agenda but medium and small ones, too, and this is good. During the event, the special focus is on the advanced indigenous equipment. Also, the convention program will cover import substitution and technological independence as well.

As part of its strategic partnership with Gazprom, St. Petersburg is carrying out an entire range of projects on research and development of new minefields, natural resource development in the Arctic Region and the World Ocean, and production of liquefied natural gas equipment. We’ve been implementing collaborative initiatives as regards to social security, sports, energy, and transport.

I have no doubt that all the decisions made during the Forum will give impetus to further innovation-based economic development all across Russia.

On behalf of the State Duma Committee of the Russian Federation on Energy and the Russian Gas Society, let me greet all of you warmly at the 12^th St. Petersburg International Gas Forum!

SPIGF is a unique place that every year opens its doors to high-status state officials, top oil and gas companies, and sectoral scientists to promote exchange of the best practices and progressive knowledge about technological achievements and initiatives, as well as discussions of advanced concepts and development options.

Just like before, this year the program of the Forum is tightly packed. It will cover the most pressing industry matters, in particular related to Russia’s becoming technologically independent, enhancement of its international collaboration with friendly countries and regions, as well as the national development strategies in all the spheres from field exploration to product procession.

As usually, the Russian Gas Society will hold round table discussions and scientific-practical conferences during SPIGF 2023. These will cover advanced technologies for hydrocarbon feedstock procession, legislative regulations in the oil and gas sector, use of space technologies to promote development in the fuel and energy sector, and many other topics. You are welcome to attend our events!

For the 12^th time in a row, the St. Petersburg International Gas Forum is taking place in the capital of the North, and I am happy to welcome all the guests!

I have no doubt that the Forum once again will confirm its status as the largest platform in the oil and gas sector, which is popular with the business community, being a great place to share experience and discuss global insights and major development options. In the preceding years, it has gained well-deserved reputation among professionals of the Russian fuel and energy sector, as well as the world’s top gas-producing countries. It is no secret that the centre of the global gas industry is shifting towards East, and I am pleased to say that this trend is reflected in the Forum agenda.

The issues discussed during SPIGF are in the focus of attention not only for officials of the oil and gas sector, but for the public at large, too. In the long run, the economy of Russia strongly depends on the progress made by our power economy and the hydrocarbon market.

St. Petersburg International Gas Forum is highly appreciated as a summit that serves to diversify the national economy, to launch and get production sites into top gear, to attract investments for development of new fields, to increase Russia’s export potential, and to financially support investment initiatives undertaken by trade banks and development institutes.

Collaboration with the oil and gas sector is one of the top priorities for Gazprombank. We extensively fund projects developed by gas companies, are proactively involved into digitalization of the sector, and help a lot with prompt introduction of science-driven proposals at production sites.

I do believe that the exposition and the topic-rich convention agenda of SPIGF, in which events and interactive installations by the companies from Gazprombank Group have a major part, will promote effective business communication between the delegates along with advantageous development of inter-regional and cross-country relations, well-timed introduction of advanced insights, development of potent solutions as regards to import substitution and switching to new logistic patterns.

It is my pleasure to welcome the participants of the 12^th St. Petersburg International Gas Forum and the 26^th ROS-GAS-EXPO International Specialised Exhibition of natural gas industry and technology for gas facility!

Russia has ranked first in the world in terms of natural gas reserves, which assigns the gas industry the leading role in the economy and life of our country. Today, 73% of the country has got gas services available, and the Russian Government has passed a social program of gas infrastructure extension to ensure that all the Russian consumers have access to gas services. ROS-GAS-EXPO is one of the operation tools used to solve this essential task encountered by the Russian gas sector.

As usually, the Exhibition will showcase the most recent offers by the Russian and overseas developers as regards to gas supply to housing units and industrial sites, technical inspection and operation of gas distributing systems, gas consumption control, gas-related reliability, safety, and sustainability provisions.

ROS-GAS-EXPO 2023 will be participated by 256 exhibitors from 19 regions of Russia, as well as representatives from foreign companies operated in Armenia, Belarus, China, Iran, and Turkey.

I hope all the participants of the St. Petersburg International Gas Forum and exhibitors of ROS-GAS-EXPO 2023 will manage to make profitably for their businesses and accomplish their corporate objectives intended as soon as possible!

In the 12 years, the Gas Forum has steadily made it into the Top 3 of industrial events that take place around the world every year. The Forum’s authority has developed thanks to its up-to-date agenda that makes sure to cover key trends of the sector development, but also because of its high-status participants. SPIGF has been bringing together directors of the biggest oil and gas companies, top international experts, and officials from federal executive bodies. During 4 days of operation, the venue is usually attended by up to 30 thousand visitors from more than 50 countries.

In 2023, SPIGF is going to be even more outstanding and get more attention than before. For the first time ever, its exhibition will be arranged in every pavilion of the Expoforum Centre, as well as the Passage and the outdoor premises. More than 500 companies will demonstrate the whole assortment of opportunities that the gas industry has got. Collaborative stands arranged by the Republic of Belarus and constituent entities of the Russian Federation will present the production potential possessed by the fuel and energy industry of the Union State.

The exhibition program will include InGAS Stream 2023 – Innovations in the Gas Industry International Specialised Exhibition, Import Substitution in the Gas Industry Corporate Exposition, ROS-GAS-EXPO International Specialised Exhibition of Natural Gas Industry and Technology for Gas Facility, and Gas Engine Fuel International Specialised Exhibition.

The list of the newly designed facilities to be exhibited will include mobile fueling stations with LNG-based energy sources, portable well survey and development equipment kits, tool kits for gas and oil production stimulation, and many more.

The convention program will answer to the current strategic agenda and the industrial trends, including technological independence and import substitution, digital transformation, mining and transportation, gas infrastructure expansion to regions, gas engine fuel, LNG, and hydrogen-based energy. The participants of the Global Natural Gas Market Transformation: Challenges and Ways of Development plenary session and other events are going to focus on each of the topics mentioned above.

Moreover, during the Forum, Gazprom will hold a meeting on the technological development and a session of its Science and Technology Council.

Participants of the Youth Day will talk about HR management efficiency enhancement and discuss the talent pool and the scientific potential of the sector.

Russia – Middle East and Russia – Asia business dialogues will take place during the St. Petersburg International Gas Forum, too. The geographic focus has changed in view of export supplies and international collaboration channels diversification, and naturally these trends have their impact on the list of participants. For the second year in a row, the amount of European companies and visitors attending the Forum has been reducing whereas the number of our guests from amicable regions keeps increasing. We are going to talk to the latter about large-scale international projects, construction of new gas pipelines and gas hubs, to discuss the new logistics and the global energy safety matters.

Summarizing the results of 2022, the world’s gas demand reduced by 65 mln cbm with about 90% (55 mln) falling to Europe’s share. Our key objective is to compensate for this reduction with the help of new projects implemented in collaboration with our friendly countries and the local demand support by developing the infrastructure required. As a centre of attraction for industrial leaders, SPIGF seems to be the most efficient tool to make all of these come true.

It’s my pleasure to welcome all the participants of the 12^th St. Petersburg International Gas Forum (SPIGF) on behalf of SPIGF Directorate and me personally!

I can proudly say that for many years the Forum has been recognized as one of the top oil and gas events of the world. Here, global issues of the sector are discussed, the state-of-the-art industrial projects and initiatives are presented, and the most newsworthy agreements are made.

This year, the Forum exposition is going to be as large-scale as ever: the exhibitions will be arranged in three pavilions of the Expoforum Convention and Exhibition Centre, including its Passage, and outdoor premises, too. 500+ exhibitors will showcase their products.

The participants will have a rich convention agenda to enjoy. This year, the Forum will comprise about 90 events, covering 19 topics.

During the St. Petersburg International Gas Forum, our special focus will be on development and search of new technology-based collaboration formats and promotion of big-sized companies along with small and medium ones.

Sharing priceless experiences, demonstrating the industry’s constant ambition for innovations, making new contacts and beneficial agreements, as well as strengthening of international relations. All of these will be part of SPIGF 2023.
