THE 11TH ST. PETERSBURG INTERNATIONAL GAS FORUM


80 events of the convention program took place within the framework of the Forum.
17,000+ people from 52 countries visited SPIGF and 500 companies presented their most recent projects for the gas industry at the exhibition premises of 45,000 sq. m. Representatives of 140 media covered the SPIGF 2022 proceedings.

The Forum participants discussed the most urgent issues:

  • the centre of the global gas industry moving East and a closer cooperation with the Asian Region required;
  • new cooperation connections needed to save the fuel and energy sector;
  • local energy security provisions being on the top of the Russian gas industry’s agenda;
  • use of stock trading as means of getting the gas prices right;
  • the inevitable switching to gas engine fuel.

CONVENTION PROGRAM


During the four days of the Forum, 80 convention events took place including meetings, presentations, and round-table discussions that were attended by chief executives of the top Russian and foreign companies along with the state authorities’ officials.

Among the key events of the SPIGF 2022 convention program:

  • The Russia – Africa dialogue. The international conference “Russian – Africa Gas Dialogue: Growth Areas and Collaboration Expansion Prospects” discussed the need for Algerian and Russian companies to collaborate.
  • The prospects of cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan in the oil and gas sector were evaluated by the participants of the international conference “Business Dialogue Russia-Kazakhstan: Partnership in the gas industry 4.0”
  • IT developments in the oil and gas sector and the problem of import substitution
  • The need for close collaboration between fuel and energy companies of Russia and local equipment producers.

PLENARY SESSION


Participants of the Russian Gas Industry: Development Priorities in New Conditions plenary session discussed the interest of the Eastern countries in cooperation with Russia.

YOUTH DAY


In 2022, the Youth Day was held for the eighth time in the framework of St. Petersburg International Gas Forum. The project was traditionally held by St. Petersburg State University of Economics (UNECON) and supported by the International Business Congress and Gazprom.

Participants of this project shared their game-changing concepts and ideas for the energy sector and set a new perspective of the fuel and energy sector’s development.

The program of the Youth Day included: team building, a quest for the SPIGF exhibition, a business game, work with industry experts and speeches by key speakers.

Within the framework of SPIGF 2022, graduates of the Youth Day of previous years also presented a new international energy project Global Energy Community.

EXHIBITION PROGRAM


Expoforum traditionally hosted expositions of technical developments. Guests and participants of the Forum couldn’t miss the exposition of technologies, equipment, and services intended for the sector: InGAS Stream 2022 — Innovations in the Gas Industry International Specialised Exhibition, Import Substitution in the Gas Industry Corporate Exposition, Gas Engine Fuel International Specialised Exhibition, and ROS-GAS-EXPO International Specialised Exhibition of natural gas industry and technology for gas facility, as well as OMR 2022 International Exhibition and Conference for Shipbuilding and Equipment and Technologies for Development of the Arctic and Continental Shelf.

Almaz-Antey Air and Space Defence Corporation brought to the SPIGF venue their E-Neva project, a whole range of electric vehicles. The collective stand of the corporation presented the unmanned module gas-electric platform and e-vehicle designs.

The offshore helicopter Mi-171AZ designed by Russian Helicopters Holding was demonstrated at the exhibition, too. The brand-new helicopter (search and rescue version) arrived from the Moscow suburbs to St. Petersburg to be showcased at the Forum.

HMS Group brought their new projects in the field of hi-tech equipment for gas companies. One of the most remarkable ones was the model of the high-speed electrically actuated gas pumping unit based on a mono-hull centrifugal compressor with magnetic bearing, dry gas seals, and a variable frequency electric motor.

Moreover, the exhibition included projects by Gazprom, KAMAZ, Gazprom Gas Engine Fuel, Severstal, Gazprom LNG Technologies, Vega-GAZ, Gazprom Energoholding, RariTEK, Gazprom Mezhregiongaz, INTRA Services Company, Gazenergokomplekt and others.

This year, Import Substitution in the Gas Industry Corporate Exposition was focused on Gazprom’s technological independence from imported technologies, materials, equipment, and maintenance services. 37 companies from 10+ constituent territories of the Russian Federation presented their newly designed products, and altogether the exposition comprised over 160 hi-tech Russian-made projects.

The Collective Exposition of Modern Technologies in the Gas Industry, which presented a set of equipment and technologies applied at gas production, transportation, distribution, underground storage and treatment, worked at the SPIGF 2022 venue, too. Advanced technologies were presented by many participating companies, namely: Safe Technologies, Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas, NovAK, SIBUR Holding, MPS Soft, Sedan Filter Plant, Technology Synergy, and others.

Made in Russia, the exposition by the Russian Export Center, embraced 16 local companies this year, all of them engaged into development of solutions for the oil and gas sector.

Kyrgyzstan became the partner country of SPIGF 2022, their exposition was made of two parts. One half of their stand was the yurt (the nomad tent), the traditional Kyrgyz house. The second half of the exposition was dedicated to Gazprom Kyrgyzstan.

PARTICIPATION OF THE RUSSIAN REGIONS


During the exhibition program of the 11th St. Petersburg International Gas Forum, Russian regions presented their projects that demonstrated the potential in the oil and gas sector that constituent units of Russia hold. The Perm Territory along with the Tomsk, Astrakhan, and Chelyabinsk Regions took part in the Forum with their collective stands.
