DISCUSSION:

It’s been 10 years ago when Russia set a course for import substitution. 2 years ago foreign vendors left the Russian market. State regulations coupled with unavailability of foreign software resulted in unprecedented demand for local products. Naturally, this demand was also associated with the challenges in connection with actual migration of complex IT environments.

Businesses are waiting to get well-integrated solutions. Such solutions can’t be developed without close cooperation in the IT sector, which applies to infrastructure and applicable software, as well as software/hardware compatibility. At the same time, collaboration between software vendors and users is as essential, as it is the basis for development of the solutions tailored to the business needs.

Another important aspect is migration challenges associated with switching of complex IT environments to Russian-made platforms. Such migration takes long time, and during this period it is essential and even critical for the customers to ensure safety, integrity and full operability of their infrastructures in heterogeneous environments that still utilize foreign solutions. At the same time, the migration process has to be manageable and safe.

Issues to be discussed:

  • The tasks encountered by Russian vendors to ensure the same integration levels as with foreign equivalents.
  • Technical aspects of import substitution: compatibility with available systems, quality and functionality of Russian-made equivalents.
  • Challenges encountered by the customer and solutions offered by vendors.
  • Ensuring high level of user support in case integrated solutions by different vendors are applied.
  • Multivendor integration VS single-vendor solutions. Pros and cons for the customer.
  • Factors behind effective migration of IT environments to Russian-made platforms.
  • Migrating complex environments without any operability loss.
  •

Representatives of the biggest software ordering customers from the oil and gas industry are invited to join the round table discussion.
