During the exhibition program of the 9th St. Petersburg Gas Forum the company presented a perspective prototype of the automatic monitoring set of technical procedures (AMSTP) – a smart machine-learning-based system. Through continuous control of equipment, it timely finds faults by means of vibration acoustic data analysis.
AMSTP was specially developed by the scientific research institute for instrumentation engineering (Moscow-based JSC SNIIP) for Trubodetal JSC, a new-gen gas distribution station.
The system is a complex of vibration acceleration sensors, united in a single data set. With magnets and glue, the sensors are easy to attach to any process equipment. Data obtained from them are analyzed and sent to a single data base, and the new data are compared with the data from this base, helping to discover various scenarios like hydraulic shock in a pipeline (with shock place determination), gas leakage, penetration of foreign matters into the pipeline, state of shut-off valves, and many more.
Studying the data, the system continuously keeps educating and adding new scenarios to its data base. In the long run, functionality of AMSTP can be extended through creation of a computer model of the entire GDS, with e-passports for equipment. Thus, through modeling of different conditions, it will be possible to forecast the state of the station, and the digital passport of the facility will be able to remind about prevention maintenance. It would be logically reasonable here to develop a private automatic management system (AMS) that will facilitate switching to no-human management of the GDS.
