On October 4, within the framework of the St. Petersburg International Gas Forum, was held the 2nd International Forum of Component Manufacturers featuring component manufacturers and major oil and gas customers. The forum was organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.
The main objective of the event is to create an effective B2B-site where small and medium-sized Russian component manufacturers could engage with the largest domestic and foreign customer companies.
Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Vasily Osmakov made the opening speech greeting the attendees. In his speech, he stressed that one of the problems facing the industry today is an incomprehensible, opaque state its informational landscape is in. Approaching large players in the market, whether Western or Russian, and asking them to maximize the added value in Russia, we are getting about one and the same answer: there are no suppliers, the quality is low, there is no financial resources for developing components, we cannot create added value in this country, we can not go with the requirements. But that's not true", claims Mr. Osmakov.
There is a special program for financing the development of component parts, which has been running for 4 months already. Under the program, the government allocates about 750 million rubles on the following terms: a two-year loan at 3%, a three-year loan at 5%, and on top of that, there is a financial project aimed at the production and development of components. "As for the opacity of the market, a special platform is already in operation, the so-called electronic exchange, which allows tracking and contacting suppliers and buyers. On the basis of this platform, communications and transactions were already being implemented by various market players, – the Deputy Minister pointed out. Yet another new format is illustrated by the forums of this kind. The first experience was very positive, we are planning to hold similar events in other venues."
The Forum of Component Manufacturers was also attended by representatives of key market players, including Gazprom, OMZ, HMS Group, United Engine Corporation JSC, Schlumberger, Gazprom avtomatizatsiya PJSC. The participants spoke about their experience of cooperation with Russian suppliers, and their plans for the development of cooperation in the future, as well as main categories of components that their companies need.
