An annual session of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe Working Group on Gas was held in Geneva on 27–28 March and was attended by representatives of international organizations, government agencies and major energy companies of UNECE member countries.

During the meeting, the 7th St. Petersburg International Gas Forum was presented as the leading platform for discussing the development of the global gas industry.

The Working Party on Gas is the main UNECE body for multilateral cooperation in the field of natural gas and has been operating since 1956.
