At the end of September, Lisbon will get start to the 11th International rally of vehicles working on natural gas – Blue Corridor 2017, which will route across Europe and finish in St. Petersburg.

This year, the rally is dedicated to the use of liquefied natural gas (LNG) for heavy goods vehicles. Such companies as KAMAZ, Ural, MAZ and IVECO have been invited to participate, the model range of which contains vehicles working on liquefied natural gas. Beyond this, the rally will represent a wide range of dual-fuel vehicles, as well as the passenger car LADA Vesta CNG.

The participants of the rally will pass through Madrid, Barcelona, Marseille, Milan, Ulm, Berlin, Warsaw, Kaliningrad, Riga and Tallinn and finish in St. Petersburg within the framework of the 7th St. Petersburg International Gas Forum. The length of the route is 5 700 km. Round tables along the route will provide opportunities for representatives of key players to share every-day experiences and to discuss perspectives of the gas engine fuel market’ development.

Refueling of the vehicles with liquefied natural gas within the European territory will be provided by cryogenic automobile filling stations of companies – partners of Gazprom, while in the territory of Russia – by Gazprom Gas-Engine Fuel, at its own objects in Kaliningrad and Peterhof.

«Long-distance freight transport, travelling logistics of which covers big distances and requires use of the fuel with high power output has the strongest potential for implementation of LNG as engine fuel. Participation in the rally will demonstrate the possibilities of Gazprom Gas-Engine Fuel to organize LNG-corridors in the territory of the Russian Federation», says Mikhail Likhachov, the CEO of Gazprom Gas Engine Fuel.
