SPIGF 2019 highlights Panel discussion «Gas and Transport»
News

On 4 october, representatives of international organisations and associations will discuss topical issues of development of the gas engine fuel market.

Natural gas as an engine fuel has undeniable advantages over its main competitors – liquid hydrocarbon fuel and electricity. With the same mileage, natural gas provides a more energy efficient operation of the vehicle and significantly lower emissions of toxic substances and greenhouse gases.

Modern technologies have provided a very good mileage between gas stations, and the number of gas stations in many countries has ceased to be a problem for the owners of gas-powered vehicles. Terminals for bunkering marine vessels with liquefied natural gas are becoming commonplace in port areas.

What prevents natural gas from becoming the main type of engine fuel? What is a general trend in the development of the NGV market in the areas of cars, trucks, buses, rail and water transport, agricultural and quarry equipment? What are the best practices for the state control of the NGV market? How can we increase the appeal of gas engines for the end user?

Experts from international organisations and business representatives are going to answer these and other questions as part of the panel discussion “Gas and Transport”.

The event will consist of two thematic sessions:

  1. Natural gas for environmentally friendly transport: strengthening the position of gas engine fuels in the world, when the participants and guests of the event will discuss the general development trends of the gas engine industry in the world.

  1. Incentives and barriers to the widespread use of natural gas in transport, which will focus on the practical issues of using natural gas as an engine fuel.
