The event is to commemorate the 165th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding Russian engineer Vladimir Shukhov and the 80th anniversary of the co-founder of Gazprom, the Soviet and Russian statesman Viktor Stepanovich Chernomyrdin.

Top managers of the oil and gas companies are invited to take part in the seminar including chief engineers of projects, representatives of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Utilities of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, representatives of public regional organizations connected with the oil and gas sector, organisations involved in design and construction, CEOs of engineering companies.

In 2018, the seminar on History of the Oil and Gas Industry will celebrate its fifth anniversary as one of the key events of SPIGF. The seminar will also set its agenda for the coming year. The event will include joint project of the International Shukhov Foundation and Gazprom International – presentation of the Jubilee Edition "Selected Works of the Honorary Academician Vladimir Shukhov" in 3 volumes.
