On 5 October, Expoforum Convention and Exhibition Centre's Conference Hall B6-B8 will host the Round Table Discussion "The Role of Convention and Exhibition Activities in the Oil and Gas Sector: Formation of the Coordinating Council and Improving the Quality and Efficiency of Industry-Specific Events".

Currently, the convention and exhibition industry is one of the most dynamically evolving sector of the national economy, playing an important role in the development of individual industries, fostering international partnership in the tech sphere to promote small business development programs, improving the expertise and the quality of analytical work supporting the state and corporate development programs. Convention and exhibition activities do creat most favorable conditions for a personalized information exchange, as it becomes an effective tool for attracting investors and assessing the market environment, as well as for introducing innovative technologies and supporting small businesses – developers of industrial technology solutions.

The world practice has proved the effectiveness of creating various professional associations in the industry of exhibition and convention services. Such associations and expert councils enjoy high professional authority, allowing them to share new ideas and practices in promoting the common cause, to coordinate the work of market players, and build effective mechanisms for interaction with the state and executive authorities.

The creation of the Coordinating Council of Russian organizations in the field of development of convention and exhibition activities in the oil and gas sector and its related industries has a number of undeniable advantages, whereas the main objectives of the future association, to be discussed at the round table "The Role of Convention and Exhibition Activities in the Oil and Gas Sector: Formation of the Coordinating Council and Improving the Quality and Efficiency of Industry-Specific Events", are:

• achieving higher quality of convention and exhibition events on the whole and the level of professional (public) discussions in particular, including active participation of sectoral media;
• increasing the effectiveness of the dialogue with the relevant ministries and departments, analytical support of public authorities;
• wider geography of international technological cooperation, assistance in implementing programs for import substitution and export of high-tech products of the fuel and energy complex;
• popularization of state and corporate programs in the field of digitalization of the industry, offering support to innovative and small business;
• drawing up of a schedule for organizing events and reducing the extent of unfair competition.
