DISCUSSION:

The conference programme is focused on the consideration of a wide range of issues of interaction between science and oil and gas business, the contribution of fundamental science and applied research in offering effective responses to global challenges and changes. The science-based energy of the future makes qualitatively new demands on personnel. One of the conference sessions is devoted to the discussion of this topic.

Four sessions will be held:

  • Fundamental Science and Applied Research
  • Technological sovereignty and innovative solutions
  • Personnel training in the system of innovative development of the fuel and energy complex
  • Young leaders of the oil and gas industry: voices, ideas, actions (Interactive youth session with elements of brainstorming and group work)

    SESSION 1

    FUNDAMENTAL SCIENCE AND APPLIED RESEARCH

    10.00 – 11.30

    Fundamental science and applied research enable us to find effective answers to the global challenges and changes faced by companies in the industry. A deep understanding of processes and regularities, a vision of prospects are required. Without strong scientific and technological support, it is impossible to claim leadership in the modern world. The session participants will discuss long-term benchmarks for the development of the energy sector in Russia and the world, related scientific tasks and areas of technological development.

    The science-based energy of the future makes qualitatively new demands on personnel. The session participants will discuss the specifics of interaction between universities and academic research centres, industry associations, and industry companies to identify and raise talented young people, update the educational process and train specialists who meet high modern criteria.

  • Studying current problems and opportunities in the oil and gas industry from the young professionals' point of view.
  • Development of initiatives and projects that will help reveal the potential of young workers in the industry, as well as attract and retain talented young specialists.
  • Forming the agenda of the Youth International Forum from the representatives of Russia.
