DISCUSSION:

The global energy markets are continuously transforming in compliance with opportunities and requirements placed by the international community, but also due to a broad range of economic and political factors. The current period of changes is marked with extreme indefiniteness, and also continuous alteration of the process structure and logistic flows.

Today, one of the most dynamic and investment-attractive segments of the global energy industry is the liquefied natural gas (LNG) market. LNG production development is one of the key strategic objectives the Russian economy sector is facing. According to the long-term LNG development program approved by the Russian Government in March 2021, Russia is capable of producing 140 mln tons of LNG by 2035. Yet, today development of the industry and its stand-alone projects make the market players look for some new solutions required by the industry and implement them both in Russia and beyond.

TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION:
  • Prospects of the industry development. Integrating LNG into the Russian new energy strategy till 2050.
  • Challenges and opportunities in the context of sanction-cased restrictions (target markets and projects underway).
  • Prospects of outreaching some fundamentally new target markets and development of the current ones
  • Current transportation issues (changes in the logistic structure, the tanker fleet).
  • Low-capacity LNG production.
  • Support arrangements offered to the industry by the state.
  •
