DISCUSSION:

As it was needed to speed up the technological progress because of the international sanctions, leaders of the oil and gas industry had to master technology scouting and innovation management. Technology scouting in the academic environment of Russia and its friendly countries has been quite successful in the recent years, but procedures used to implement the found solutions require enhancement.

During the round table discussion, representatives of oil and gas companies, who are responsible for further technological development, will talk about improvement of technological initiatives pipeline management methods and approaches to take advanced strategies to the operational level. Some of the issues to be discussed are:

  • Increase of technology scouting conversion to real projects thanks to more accurate objective definition at the scouting stage.
  • Tools for project development within corporations provided by outer developers (pilot projects, accelerators, incubators, product engineering, experimental tests, corporate investments etc.).
  • Project implementation mechanisms: establishing suppliers, technology licensing, R&D contracts.
  • Opportunities for corporations to support outer technological projects and verify interest in their results that are meaningful for the market.
  • Use of development institutions to finance projects that corporations are interested in at an early stage.
  • Appropriate evaluation of a technology by corporate customers (including when purchasing rights, or a startup).
  •
