    ROUND TABLE DISCUSSION

BARRIERS ON THE WAY TO AI-BASED TECHNOLOGIES INTRODUCTION AND WAYS OF OVERCOMING THEM

    17:45-18:30

    DISCUSSION:

Using AI-based systems has become a virtually mandatory element of digitalization in industrial enterprises. At the same time, it can hardly be declared that AI is replacing traditional management systems.

The participants of the round table discussions will be offered to talk about the means of extensive and universal introduction of AI-powered technologies into production procedures, as well as about natural barriers found on the way to technological progress.

    TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION:

  • Most of AI-powered technologies are not older than 30 years. Some of them are only 10 years old. At the same time, the classical automatic control theory was developed a hundred years ago. How to make people trust AI-powered information systems? The classical automatic control theory offers many ways of checking if a mathematical algorithm is correct. How can one test a neural net to make sure it is qualified enough?
  • What procedures can we entrust to AI-powered algorithms today? Are they only backoffice ones, or is there a chance that it can be entrusted with control of sophisticated machines and mechanisms? Will AI-powered algorithms replace humans or aid them? Who will answer for the mistakes made by neural nets? What organizational changes should accompany the process of control delegation to a neural net?
  • Development of AI-powered algorithms is rather costly, as it requires calibrated data sets for training, graphic engines, and top-qualified staff. What tools can be used to ensure their optimal use with concurrent engagement of many human workers?
  •
