DISCUSSION:

Since 2022, numbers of cyber attacks on Russian companies has increased. Not all the stories get to be known by the public, but every time it is about losing critical data and stopping services. In April 2025, the Government accepted amendments as regards to categorisation of facilities within the critical informational infrastructure. Now, it the Government of the Russian Federation that designated importance criteria (in collaboration with the Federal Service for Technical and Export Control of Russia), which is especially pertinent for the fuel and energy companies. All of this requires special attention to security and selection of solutions for infrastructural arrangements. Protection of the IT infrastructure includes not only IT security matters but also competent design of the infrastructure itself, selection of reliable solutions and timely support of the vendors.

QUESTIONS FOR DISCUSSION:

  • How to build failsafe IT infrastructure based on the Russian technology stack?
  • What risks are associated with the use of outdated or unsupported software?
  • How to ensure safety at the architecture level and not only thanks to protection means?
  • What Russian equivalents of Microsoft Active Directory, Certificate Authority and other critical services are ready for introduction?
  • How to choose a vendor that can guarantee long-term support and updates?
  • How to organise smooth migration from foreign solutions without deteriorating safety and performance?
  •
