Names of new laureates of the Peter the Great National Technology Award have been announced

Immediately after the end of the 24th International Scientific and Technological Congress, held as part of the 9th St. Petersburg International Gas Forum, the members of the International Academy of Technological Sciences were awarded Peter the Great National Technology Award.

The new laureates were Insaf Sayfullin, Doctor of Chemistry, Professor, Deputy Director of Federal State Budgetary Institution Blagonravov Mechanical Engineering Research Institute  of the Russian Academy of Sciences; Yakov Bezel, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Laureate of the State Prize of the Russian Federation in the field of science and technology, Laureate of the Prize of the Government of the Russian Federation in the field of science and technology, Advisor to the General Designer of Almaz-Antey Air and Space Defence Corporation JSC and creator of the Moscow air defense system; Georgy Sidorov, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Department of Oil and Gas Technology, Ufa State Petroleum Technical University, Laureate of the Russian Government Prize in the field of science and technology; Vsevolod Minaev, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Honored Inventor of the Russian Federation, Laureate of the Prize of the Government of the Russian Federation in the field of science and technology.

 

 

The main topic of the congress, organised by the International Academy of Technological Sciences, was "The practical implementation of high technology. The Academy as a centre of interaction between science and society." There were reports delivered in the following areas: new technologies in the mining and processing industries, digital and information technologies, ecology and human health.

Background information: The idea of founding the International Academy of Technological Sciences was first voiced and received support at the international conference on nanotechnology in April 1991 in Interlaken (Switzerland) with the assistance of the Russian-American Academy of Technological Sciences and the International Association New High Technologies. The Academy was established at a general meeting in Moscow and registered with the USSR Ministry of Justice on 4 June, 1991. The founders of IATC are the Academy of Technological Sciences of the Russian Federation and outstanding representatives in various fields of science.

 

 

Peter the Great National Technology Award is an award for bringing out highly promising solutions and making qualitatively new scientific achievements in the field of practical implementation. Priority is given to outstanding figures who have made a personal foundational contribution to the gas and oil industry, energy and communications.
