Following the successful launch in 2025, the session is going to continue the professional dialogue, bringing together representatives of oil and gas companies, research and engineering centres, service providers and government authorities. The focus will be on the technological advancement of offshore projects, reinforcement of industry cooperation, and production of sustainable solutions for the long-term development of offshore fields.
In 2025, the strategic session was held for the first time as part of the Forum and fast established itself as a remarkable expert platform. During the round table discussions, participants addressed the following topics:
- technical and technological expansion of well construction projects on the continental shelf;
- technological independence that should be achieved in development of offshore oil and gas fields;
- extension of service operations associated with subsea technical operations;
- development and retention of engineering and technical offshore competencies through a case study of Gazprom Group; getting ready a promising talent pool for the sector.
The plenary session dedicated to development of promising fields in the Russian continental shelf was attended by top officials from Gazprom, Ministry of Energy of Russia, Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, and Innopraktika. It confirmed both the high status of the event and a remarkable shift from feasibility studies to effective field development.
In 2026, the discussion will resume – taking into account new challenges and the practical results reached over the past period. Particular attention will be paid to integration of actual and potential suppliers of equipment, technologies, ships, infrastructural facilities and services into a single ecosystem, Shelf Association.
Members of the professional community are welcome to join the session on October 6, 2026, scheduled as part of the Forum’s convention program.
The event will be coordinated by Gazprom Shelfproject. Organisational arrangements are secured by Media Miry and ExpoForum International.
