Youth Council for Russia’s Ministry of Energy presented unified interactive web-resource for the oil and gas sector
News

The web-resource, providing information on history and development of Russia’s oil and gas industry, was presented by Ruslan Fatkhutdinov, Chairman of the Youth Council for Russia’s Ministry of Energy, and Anastasia Zvorykina, Curator of the project "Interactive Resource for the Oil and Gas Sector," on Day 1 of SPIGF 2019.

The web-portal will be the first fully-featured source of information on that subject. It will comprise a virtual museum, an e-library, a map with major facilities, a historical reference book on outstanding representatives of the oil and gas industry, and stages of its establishment in Russia. From the library, the user will be able to download up-to-date literature on the industry’s history and challenges.

It isn’t determined yet if using the library materials is to be fee-based. Currently, 3D-scanning of major oil and gas facilities is performed for purposes of the interactive museum.

Anastasia Zvorykina, Curator of the project, explained that the resource is being developed for the needs of students attending vocational higher schools and emerging industrial specialists. One of the project’s objectives is promotion of patriotism among students, added Ruslan Fatkhutdinov: thanks to the portal, they will learn about outstanding representatives of the industry and their merits in victory over fascism. "Without history, we can’t build our future," Anastasia Zvorykina believes.

According to Mr. Fatkhutdinov, the web-site is unique, as there is no industry-related source of information like that yet. He remarked that the concept of the project provides for posting of only exclusive analytical data on activities of the key players of the oil and gas sector, not some rewritten materials from third-party resources. The Oil and Gas Department of the Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas and the Historical Committee for the Ministry of Energy help to provide content for the web-resource. The only partner of the project is oil company Lukoil. Until SPIGF 2019 closed on October 4, the demo version of the resource is available at: http://museum2.silversmith.media/, but after that access to it will be ceased until the works are finished.

Ruslan Fatkhutdinov also shared his wish to establish a staffing pool at the web-resource, where industrial companies will be able to post their current vacancies and probations, and where higher schools will be able to recommend their students. Currently, oil and gas companies follow their own staffing policies and publish their vacancies on private sites or special HR web-services. The Youth Council believe that establishing a recruitment service at their web-site will only be justified if it is the only source where all the industrial players publish their job offers.

Besides, the Youth Council for the oil and gas sector intends to establish an independent web-resource to promote scientific projects, which will in a way bridge companies and higher schools. According to Mr. Fatkhutdinov, this resource will deal with scientific marketing, which is collection of practically perspective projects developed by higher schools and helping the scientists with registration of testing data and plans on their inventions introduction, so that they can sell their products later. By now, 200 projects from higher schools and about 1 thousand projects from companies have been received.
