V.I.P. guests paid much attention to the special exposition Import Substitution in the Gas Industry. The exhibition was organized with support of the Ministry of industry and trade of RF and demonstrated opportunities of the Russian manufacturers of competitive goods and services.

The guests of St. Petersburg International Gas Forum stopped at the stands of the financial and industrial company Kosmos-Neft-Gaz, the system integrator for automated management systems Gazprom avtomatizatsiya Ltd., the production and engineering center OZNA, the compressor plant KOSMA, the Tomsk electrotechnical plant, the steel and mining company Severstal and others.

Participants of the Forum presented their innovative equipment and technologies along with projects using modern gadgets and out-of-box solutions at their stands.

ChelPipe Group (Chelyabinsk Pipe-Rolling Plant) that has a production site in the Chelyabinsk region demonstrated two stands at once within this special exposition. In the smaller stand there was an interactive screen showing the pipe for the Kirinskoye field (located at the Sakhalin Peninsula). The absolute equivalent of such pipe will be used during construction of the second stage of the Kirinskoye field. “They used only Japanese pipes during the 1st stage of the Kirinskoye field construction, but now ChelPipe Group has completely mastered production of such pipes and can ensure 100% import substitution for this project”, explained Evgeny Rudometov, Head of the Department for Main equipment of ChelPipe Group.

The pipeline with D= 508 mm and wall thickness of 22.2 mm will transport gas from the field to the shore – the pipeline will be located underwater, through the Sea of Okhotsk. The interactive screen installed at the stand showed the lifecycle of this pipe, when moved from the left to the right. “The screen shows the pipe, its parameters, its manufacturing technologies, some real process operations that are performed with the pipe in the Chelyabinsk Pipe-Rolling Plant”, Mr. Rudometov said.

The second part of the stand demonstrated equipment for terminals intended for liquefied natural gas production (Sakhalin-2, Yamal LNG): pipes with D= 377 and 325 mm, with wall thickness up to 40 mm. Pipes are used to transport highly corrosive substances, liquefied natural gas, and can be operated at the temperature up to 600 degrees.

Another interesting exhibit in this stand was the red camel. “This is a reference to the new enterprise that ChelPipe and Rusnano commissioned in 2015, Eterno plant. The camel is the symbol of this plant that manufactures pipe connectors using nanostructured materials. In fact, the camel is the symbol of the Chelyabinsk Region and is in its emblem, as Chelyabinsk is located in the ancient Silk Way, which most caravans followed on their way from China and the East to Europe”, the ChelPipe representative explained.

Maxim Deryabin, Head of the LDP Department for Technical Promotion and Sales Support, presented ChelPipe’s production at the main stand: pipes and connectors for pipelines, borehole pipes and pipes for drilling at the continental shelf. “On the average, the stand demonstrates the achievements of ChelPipe Group within process development and cooperation with Gazprom – pipes, connectors, equipment, threads, ensuring starting and operation of any fields and facilities without any foreign components”, he mentioned.

The main stand of the company was decorated with figures of divers in smelters’ costumes, “Divers are a symbol of underwater, as our protection is installed at the sea bottom. Here are seagulls, a fish stock and a starfish”.

The Borkhimmash company told the V.I.P. guests about its opportunities, too. This is one of the largest chemical engineering enterprises in Russia that covers the needs of the fuel and power companies in the sphere of gas cooling, different environments and heat exchange. It produces units for air cooling, heat exchange shell-and-tube units, systems for automated control, cable blocks and pipe joints, gas dynamic 3S separators and tanks. Moreover, Borkhimmash JSC designs, produces and tests equipment using the most advanced technologies, offers services on supervised installation and complete specter of after-sales services. Since 2014 the plant produces air cooling units Iceberg-32.0 that are unique in Russia, with an all-welded chamber suitable for pressure of 320 atm., which in combination with automatic flux core welding allows Borkhimmash JSC to replace any foreign-manufactured air cooling units, in particular, the ones in operation.
