As part of the 7th International specialised exhibition InGAS Stream 2019 – Innovations in the Gas Industry, Orenburg Sulfidizing Company LLC, a subsidiary of the Salavat Catalyst Plant, presented the technology for processing industrial waste from a hydrocarbon gas treatment unit at the Orenburg gas processing plant in order to obtain import-substituting products for the needs of the Russian oil and gas refineries – dimethyl disulfide (DMDS) and dialkyl disulfides (DADS).
Salavat Catalyst Plant (SkatZ LLC) was founded in 1954. It is the largest producer of catalysts and sorbents in Russia for the oil, gas, petrochemical, chemical, metallurgical and other industries. The company's management decided to create a subsidiary, the main purpose of which will be to participate in the strategic development of the Russian petrochemical complex, to produce high-quality import-substituting products, and to protect the environment.
«Now we are building a plant for the production of these products near Gazprom's Orenburg gas processing plant. We already have supply agreements with the largest consumers of these products,» – said the company's representative.
Besides that, SkatZ LLC showed the Forum guests modern solutions for protecting the internal structure of chemical production equipment operating in aggressive environments, as well as prototypes of new brands of adsorbents: moisture-resistant silica gel adsorbent for drying and purifying natural gas before transmitting it via offshore gas pipelines and special adsorbent to purify hydrocarbons from mercury, which will ensure compliance with environmental standards, as well as protect expensive equipment from destruction. «One of our principal breaktrhougs is the silica gel adsorption system that consists of a protective (ASM grade VS) and main (ASM grade) layers of silica gels, which are used on Nord Stream and Blue Stream. Previously, such silica gels were supplied only from abroad, and now we manufacture and supply products that allow Gazprom’s strategic enterprises to eliminate sanction risks and dependence on foreign supplies,» – said SkatZ LLC representative.
Besides the main products, the company presented this year an intelligent software suite that allows tracking of health condition and indicators of employees of an industrial enterprise taking proper measures in case of danger.
The company's representative also pointed out that the provision of integrated services for the supply of products and support at the customer’s facilities (catalyst services) is the key strength of the company giving it a competitive edge.
