On October 6th, we are inviting you to the seminar "Development of the Continental and Arctic Shelves of Russia. Background. Challenges. Outlooks".

Top managers of oil and gas companies, chief engineers, heads of design and engineering companies, representatives of ministries, regional public organizations engaged in the field of oil and gas, design and construction will focus on exploration and development of Russia's continental and Arctic shelves. The oil and gas potential of the Russian Arctic plays a unique role as forecasts predict it to have enormous undeveloped resources. According to experts, these reserves will serve the basis for global economic development in the future, as traditional sources of raw materials are gradually becoming depleted.

The historic seminar will also include the round table discussion "Prospects for the Construction of the Northern Latitudinal Railway and its Impact on the Development of Shelf Deposits". The participants will discuss a wide range of issues, including an overview of the history of construction of railways in the North of Russia, as well as the background and prospects for implementation of the major public-private project "Construction of the Northern Latitudinal Railway (NLR)». The NLR project will become an element of the unified Arctic transport system that will ensure the development of the natural-resources potential of the Russian Arctic zone and the shelf of the Arctic seas. It will also ensure a significant reduction (up to 1000 km) of the transport routes from the fields in the northern regions of Western Siberia to the ports of the Baltic, White, Barents and Kara Seas.

The seminar is organised by ExpoForum International and the International Shukhov Foundation in association with the National Chamber of Engineers and the Union of Railway Builders.
