The meeting "Youth day: Dialogue of Generations. Informal meeting" took place in ExpoForum Exhibition and Convention Centre on October 5. The event brought together top managers of the largest companies and students of Russian and European universities in an informal meeting to discuss trends in development of the gas industry.

It is the third time that the Gas Forum runs this event as part of its convention program. This year, the topic of the Youth Day was "Dialogue of Generations. Gas. Looking into the future." The topic was chosen for a good reason: gas market maturity boosts the search for alternative uses of the resource and forms a new architecture in the energy sector. That's why we need to have a second look at the developments to identify the current set of competencies for future specialists to keep the industry dynamically developing.

“Youth Day: Dialogue of Generations. Informal Meeting” brought together 130 students from 40 universities from 26 countries, including Austria, Belarus, Bolivia, Great Britain, Germany, China, the Netherlands, Russia, the United States and France. The event was attended by representatives of the leading energy companies including Chairman of the Executive Board of Uniper AG Klaus Schäfer, President and Chairman of the Executive Board of N.V. Nederlandse Gasunie Han Fennema, Chairman of the Board of Wintershall Holding GmbH Mario Mehren, Deputy Chairman of the Management Committee of Gazprom Sergey Khomyakov, the Head of Shell concern in Russia Sederik Kremers. The organizers were the Higher Economic School of St. Petersburg State University of Economics and Gazprom.

During the event, the students were able to talk to representatives of the gas industry's business elite, discuss trends in the market development, and also had a chance to ask personal questions. For example, how future managers felt at work, which books they read in their spare time and how they cope with stress. Speakers from the partner companies of the Youth Day with pleasure shared their experience of success and spoke about their vision of development of the industry.
