The event is scheduled for October 5 through 8.
Having analyzed the situation with the coronavirus pandemic both in Russia and in the world, as well as issues of opening of the borders and international air traffic resumption, the organisers of the Forum have considered to reschedule the 10th Anniversary St. Petersburg International Gas Forum to October 5 through 8, 2021.
Rescheduling SPIGF for 2021 is a reasonable and informed decision. Today, the epidemiologic situation is extremely unstable, most of the countries keeping their borders closed, and no prerequisites detected for international tourism recovery (in particular, for business trips).
Ensuring the best conditions for discussion and efficient collaboration of the gas sector participants is the main task that the Forum organisers aspire to solve. ExpoForum is entirely ready for convention and exhibition activities, and many previously scheduled events are currently taking place there. However, to hold an event as large as St. Petersburg International Gas Forum, bringing together participants from all over the world, absolute confidence about the future is required.
SPIGF has been taking place since 2011, this year celebrating 10 years in business. The event has become especially high-profile and should comply with the strictest requirements.
St. Petersburg International Gas Forum has been welcoming representatives of the oil and gas industry from throughout the world, offering powerful opportunities for international cooperation. Presence of foreign experts is an important aspect, and that’s why SPIGF needs its traditional geography coverage maintained.
“Currently, everyone is following the epidemiological situation, trying to see how things will proceed. This is why rescheduling SPIGF 2020 for the next year is not unexpected. The interest of the global gas community to our country as the owner of the major natural gas reserves throughout the world is never fading. St. Petersburg International Gas Forum is a place where both the Russian gas market development and the global oil-gas industry evolution trends are covered. Holding the Forum on later dates will ensure presence of the majority of participants, enabling demonstration of the event’s entire designed capacity,” said Sergey Voronkov, CEO of ExpoForum International.
We look forward to seeing you at SPIGF 2021!
