EXHIBITION ‘IMPERIAL PORCELAIN: CHIEFTAINS OF GREAT VICTORIES’
The porcelain figurines of the Russian commanders and marshals will be installed in the lounge area of the St. Petersburg International Gas Forum 2025.
President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin has declared 2025 the year of the Homeland’s Defender, and that’s why the Imperial Porcelain Manufactory is showcasing twenty sculptures from their patriotic series at the Forum. This series includes three collections.
Their collection named CHIEFTAINS OF GREAT VICTORIES presents porcelain portraits of Russian battle captains and one sea captain who fought in the 18th through the 20th centuries — Alexander Suvorov, Mikhail Kutuzov, Fyodor Ushakov, Pyotr Bagration, Mikhail Skobelev, and Alexey Brusilov.
The Soviet series includes certain distinguished marshals, whose military wisdom lead Russia to Victory over Nazi Germany — Joseph Stalin, Georgy Zhukov, Leonid Govorov, Konstantin Rokossovsky, and Ivan Konev.
The SOLDIERS collection includes 13 figurines representing Russian warriors from different historic periods starting with the reign of Ivan the Terrible and ending with valorous times of the Great Patriotic War.
All the pieces are handmade in the oldest porcelain manufactory in compliance with the traditional technology. The series is made of biscuit ceramics, which is ultrawhite unglazed porcelain. This material ensures detailed representation of the garments and insignias, and also guarantees life-likeness and historic authenticity.
Thanks to the effort undertaken by the Imperial Porcelain Manufactory, the images of our victorious heroes have been preserved in porcelain forever.
