The Congress is held<strong> every three years<\/strong> under the auspices of the International Gas Union (IGU).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Congress and the exhibition were traditionally attended by top officials of a wide number of states across the globe, representatives of government authorities, R&amp;D and public organizations, as well as heads of the world&#39;s leading energy companies<strong>, such as Chevron, ExxonMobil, Qatar Petroleum, BP, Total, ConocoPhillips, Shell, <\/strong><strong>etc<\/strong><strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The World Gas Congress was attended by<strong> 12,000 delegates from 100 countries around the world<\/strong>. The total exhibition area was about <strong>40,000 sq.m.<\/strong> and included expositions of <strong>350 leading companies of the gas industry. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>As part of the exhibition program of WGC<\/strong>, the St. Petersburg International Gas Forum represented its exposition.
